The Unexpected Encounter: A Man’s Judgment
James Courtney was already regretting his flight before it even started. The moment he saw his seatmate, he knew this would be a long and uncomfortable journey. She was a larger woman, and James couldn’t help but think, “How am I supposed to enjoy this flight if I’m squeezed into this seat next to her?”
As soon as she sat down and buckled her seatbelt, her elbow brushed against him. Irritated, James snapped, “Watch out!” The woman turned to him with an apologetic expression.
“Oh, I’m so sorry,” she said, her voice shaky.
“Sorry?” James scoffed. “Are you sorry for all the donuts you ate?”
The woman’s face froze in shock. She looked young and kind, which made James even more sarcastic. “Lady, if you’re traveling, you should be taking up TWO seats!”
Her eyes welled up with tears, but James wasn’t moved, especially when he noticed the cheap, outdated clothes she was wearing and her worn-out shoes.
“Let me guess,” he continued, “Your whole budget goes into nachos and hot dogs, right? No wonder you can’t afford two seats!”
The woman turned her face toward the window, and James saw tears trickling down her cheeks. “Look,” he said, his tone a little softer, “I have a friend who runs a clinic down in Mexico. I’m sure he’d give you a liposuction at a good price!”
The woman’s shoulders shook with sobs, but James felt no remorse. In fact, he felt somewhat justified as he ordered a Martini from the flight attendant.
“Shaken, not stirred!” he said with his best James Bond impression, adding, “I don’t know what Moby Dick will drink, though…”
The flight attendant gave him a disapproving look before turning to the woman beside him. “Ma’am, would you like something to drink?”
“Yes, I’d like a diet soda,” the woman said quietly, wiping her eyes.
James couldn’t resist mocking her. “Don’t you think it’s a bit late for a diet soda?”
The flight attendant and the woman both ignored him, but James could feel that he had annoyed them both. Satisfied, he leaned back, sipping his Martini while the woman quietly sipped her soda. He couldn’t help but notice that she’d have to use the bathroom sooner or later.
A Celebrity Surprise and a Lesson Learned
Not long after the woman finished her drink, the flight attendant arrived with the meals. A beautiful tray was placed in front of James, and another was set in front of the woman.
“Are you sure this is enough?” James asked, grinning. “Because I think it’ll take a village to feed this lady!”
The flight attendant ignored his comment and continued serving the rest of the passengers in first class. “That was rude, wasn’t it?” James asked the woman beside him. “I think I’ll file a complaint about her.”
The woman remained silent, so James decided to enjoy his amazing meal. He was savoring the last sip of his wine when the flight attendant returned, this time with a big smile on her face.
“Excuse me,” she said, “The captain is a huge fan of yours and would love to invite you to the cockpit.”
James was confused but then noticed that the flight attendant was speaking to the large woman who had been sitting next to him. The woman blushed and nodded happily.
This meant that James had to stand up and give her the seat. The flight attendant led the woman away, and James was left in his seat, stunned. As the woman was led to the cockpit, James couldn’t help but feel uneasy about his previous behavior.
The flight attendant returned and looked at him coldly. “Listen here, I don’t care how many millions you have. If you upset her again, I’ll move you to the economy class.”
James opened his mouth to protest but saw the determination in the flight attendant’s eyes. “Sorry,” he muttered.
“You’re not apologizing to me,” she replied firmly.
Not long after, the woman, Allison, came back to her seat, smiling as she signed autographs for other passengers. James jumped up to let her sit, his attitude completely changed.
“Look,” he said with his most charming smile, “I’m sorry if I was rude. I had no idea who you were.”
Allison turned to look at him, and James couldn’t help but notice her stunning eyes. “It doesn’t matter who I am. You shouldn’t treat people like that, EVER. And anyway, you’re not sorry. Would you have apologized if I wasn’t famous? You know, I can’t change my size, but you can change your attitude. Don’t judge people by their appearance!”
James sat down, speechless. As the plane touched down in Portland, he remained quiet, reflecting on his actions.
