Born in 2018 at just 36 weeks, the twins were premature but completely healthy. Their mother also recovered well, making the occasion even more special. Given that the chances of being born with hereditary albinism are about 1 in 17,000, the birth of identical albino twins was an extraordinary rarity—so rare, in fact, that Catalina and Virginia were the first known identical albino twins in their country.
